College Success Award

Lakeview High School is proud to announce that it has received a College Success Award - Gold from, the nation’s leading nonprofit providing school information to parents and families. New in 2021, the Gold level distinction recognizes high schools with a multiyear track record of preparing students to succeed in college, as determined by the school having won at least two College Success Awards in recent years.

Now in its fourth year, the College Success Award recognizes and celebrates public high schools across the country that excel at helping students enroll and succeed in college based on high school level data on college preparation, enrollment, and persistence made available by their state. LHS earned the annual College Success Award in 2020 and 2021, positioning us among only 1,770 schools nationwide to earn the inaugural Gold Award.

The College Success Award is possible because Ohio is leading the nation in both collecting and transparently sharing information on how students perform after high school, which is valuable information for families, educators, and policymakers. A total of 180 schools in Ohio took home a College Success Award, with 174 others also obtaining the Gold level honor.

Lakeview is in the top 8% of high schools in the State of Ohio for college success,” says high school Principal Lawrence Herrholtz.  “Our proud achievement is a direct reflection of student determination, teacher high expectations, and tremendous parent support.”
