LHS Students Create PSA About Vaping Dangers

A public service announcement (PSA) currently airing on WFMJ-TV 21 and the CW was created and produced by students at Lakeview High School. Students are part of the school’s Youth Led Prevention (YLP) program, which is a program that aims to educate students about substance misuse through peer prevention, positive youth development, and community service.

Working with school Resource Officer Brandon Rice and the Trumbull County Combined Health District, students wrote and produced the informational video that focuses on the My Life, My Quit website - a website designed to help young people stop smoking or vaping. “That’s the big issue with our generation right now, vaping,” says LHS junior Sydney Peterson. “We see the effect vaping has on our friends and we want to help them take charge and let them know there are ways they can get help to quit.”

The PSA will run throughout the month of March on WFMJ and the CW. You can also view the PSA by clicking this link. For additional information on the My Life, My Quit program visit mylifemyquit.org
